About the Rental Store
Johnson Machinery Rentals began in 1990, renting heavy equipment out of our Riverside facility. In 1998, Caterpillar, Inc. announced the launch of The Cat Rental Store concept to clearly define the Caterpillar role in the rental business and create a distinctive identity. With the growing need for smaller, more versatile equipment and the growing demand for more rental equipment Caterpillar dealers can respond to customers with the right equipment, at the right location and with the right service each and every time they call or walk through the door.
Johnson Machinery introduced Johnson Rental Services in the fall of 1998 and opened their first rental store in Temecula. In April of 2001, a second store was opened in Fontana. In July of the same year, another location was opened up in Victorville. Late in 2001, the Rental Department of Johnson Machinery was changed to become the fourth Rental Store, located at the Riverside main branch. In summer of 2005 the fifth rental store opened in Indio. These five locations are able to serve all of Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
