Rental Trenchers
Designed for cutting narrow, straight trenches in soil to prepare for the installation of pipe or cable lines, trenchers range in size from smaller, walk-behind models to large attachments for skid loaders or tractors and other vehicles, even heavy tracked equipment.
Various digging implements and attachments can supplement a trencher, depending on the trench’s depth and wide requirements. Trenchers can be used in a variety of roles, from landscaping projects to commercial and industrial applications.
Trenchers come in two designs: a chain trencher and a wheel trencher.
Chain trenchers cut with a digging chain that is driven around a rounded metal frame, or boom. Resembling a giant chain saw, a chain trencher typically is used to cut narrow, deep trenches, controlled by adjusting the angle of the boom.
A wheel trencher — sometimes called a rock wheel — features a toothed, metal wheel designed to penetrate harder ground than chain trenches, which are used for softer material.
Wheel trenchers can be mounted on tracks or wheels, enabling maneuverability and flexibility, ad can handle cutting through almost everything, from silt and sand to split or broken rock. The machine can even cut through pavement for road maintenance projects.
Cutting elements for any trencher varies in size and design, providing solutions for a variety of tasks with their adaptability.
