Compa General de Equipos, S.A. de C.V. (COGESA), began operations as a department of representations of the Sun-Millet House of San Salvador in the Republic of El Salvador in 1926. In that year it acquired the representation of John Deere agricultural machinery.
In 1930 he joined the Caterpillar Tractor Co. granted by Caterpillar, and from then on and over time incorporated prestigious brands such as Mack Trucks, Grove Worldwide, Lincoln Electric, Cameco Industries Inc. and Mobil among others.
Currently Cogesa has extensive facilities for offices, warehouses and workshops in San Salvador and two branches located in San Miguel and Sonsonate.
On March 1, 1998, Cogesa began in markets of Guatemala and Belize to purchase the Caterpillar distribution for both countries. Thereafter General Tractor Corporation SA in Guatemala and General Equipment Company Ltd. in Belize, both known commercially as Gentrac, began operations.
